Wen-Yau HSIEH // Senior Pastor
Pastor Hsieh has been Senior Pastor of CCIC since 2009.

Born in Hsinchu, Taiwan, he graduated from National Tsing Hua University with a degree in mathematics before heading to the US for graduate work in 1978: first at the City College of New York for his Masters, and then to the New York Polytechnic University (now NYU Polytech) for his PhD - both in computer science. He and his family eventually settled in New Jersey for twenty something years, where he  worked at Bell Labs/Bellcore/Telcordia for 25 years.

In 2005, Wen responded to the calling from God, quit his job, and moved out to Chicago for seminary studies at the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, where he eventually earned his MDiv.

He is married to his wife Emily (a Cornell food scientist alum and now prolific baker). They have two grown kids, Jonathan and Connie - both grads of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Amongst his interests: he likes to smile a lot. A lot. Really. : ) He also has a Facebook page!
